Nico Segal x Nikko Washington Collaboration Details

This is your opportunity to collaborate with two award-winning professional artists. You can submit a piece of artwork inspired by Nikko Washington’s mural for this project, or add your own music on top of Nico Segal’s musical composition he created for this project.

If you submit artwork or music, your work will be reviewed personally by Nico and Nikko. If your artwork is one of Nico’s top 3 favorite musical submissions or Nikko’s top 3 favorite art submissions, you’ll receive the following:

  • NFT: if selected, you’ll be featured in one of 3, single-edition piece of digital art (NFT) alongside these two incredible professional artists. All costs of producing the NFT are covered by Play Together. The proceeds from the sale of this NFT will fund future art scholarships for other students in Chicago through Play Together. (3 total)

  • $500 Arts Scholarship: Receive a $500 arts scholarship to be used for art or music materials or education. (6 total scholarships)

Submit a piece of art in collaboration with renown Chicago painter and muralist, Nikko Washington.

Collaborate with Nico on Music

Nico will select his favorite musical submissions that extend on his composition to be released on a playlist.

Nico’s Top 3 favorite submissions will be released as an NFT, so your music will appear in a final piece of digital artwork alongside Nico.

Nikko will select his favorite image submissions to be released in a gallery on the Play Together website.

Nikko’s Top 3 favorite submissions will be released as an NFT, so your artwork will appear in a final piece of digital artwork alongside Nikko’s own artwork.

How to participate in this project

  1. Be ready the day that the prompts go live: 11/1/22

  2. Decide if you’ll participate in the music prompt or the art prompt (or both!)

  3. Follow the guidance of the prompt to create your original piece of music or artwork inspired by the work created by Nico or Nikko. Submit your artwork according to the instructions, and wait to hear back!
